Additional information

As reported in IARC Monographs, Vol.79, 2001, p.342 with reference to Lide& Milne, Properties of Organic Compounds, Version 5.0, Boca Raton, FL, CRC Press, 1996 the melting point of Sulfadimidine is 198.5 °C. In HSDB Report of Sulfamethazine (synonym of Sulfadimidine) with reference to O'Neil, The Merck Index - An Encyclopedia of Chemicals, Drugs, and Biologicals. 13th Edition, Whitehouse Station, NJ: Merck and Co., Inc., 2001 p. 1589 a melting point of 176 °C is reported for the substance with also other values admitted (178-179°C, 198-199 °C or 205-207°C). As conclusion a melting point between 176°C and 207°C is acceptable and depends on the purity of the substance.
