Description of key information

The surface tension of a 1 g/L aqueous solution of the test material was found to be 61.0 mN/m. As the result was greater than 60 mN/m, the test substance was not considered to be surface active.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Surface tension:
61
in mN/m at 20°C and concentration in mg/L:
1 000

Additional information

A package of physicochemical testing, including a surface tension determination, was performed by Huntingdon Life Sciences, UK, to determine certain physicochemical properties of the test substance the test material. The surface tension determination was conducted to OECD test method 115 and EEC test method A5, and in accordance with GLP.

The surface tension of a 1 g/L aqueous solution of the test material was found to be 61.0 mN/m. As the result was greater than 60 mN/m, the test substance was not considered to be surface active.
