The sample was not sieved (no fraction with > 1000 µm). The sample showed a bimodal particle size distribution with a mean particle size D50 = 35 µm. A smaller peak was found at ca. 1 µm and the main peak at 50 µm.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The substance as manufactured contains a small alveolar fraction (< 10 %) with diameters between 1 and 10 µm.
This has to be taken into account for a risk assessment. Nevertheless, the substance does not fulfill the definition
of a nanomaterial.
