Additional information

Based on the available data for the aquatic compartment HYEQS is most toxic to algae with an acute ErC50 (72h) of 0.14 mg/L and a chronic ErC10 (72h) of 0.04 mg/L.

Based on the available data for the terrestrial compartment HYEQS is most toxic to plants (Avena sativa (oat) & Lactuca sativa (lettuce)) with a lowest chronic EC10 (14d) growth of 6.1 mg/kg soil dw for Avena sativa.

Conclusion on classification

For the Environmental classification the following data of HYEQS have to be considered:

1. Acute ecotoxicity (lowest available value):   Algae ErC50 (72h) = 0.14 mg/L

2. Chronic ecotoxicity (lowest available value): Algae ErC10 (72h) = 0.04 mg/L

3. Ready biodegradability

4. Log Kow = 2.3 (not bioaccumulative)

Based on these parameter the proposed classification is a follows

Proposed classification according DSD 67/548/EEC:

N, R50                                  Algae ErC50 (72h) < 1 mg/L
                                              readily biodegradable, Log Kow < 3 (no long-term classification)

Proposed classification according CLP 2ndATP 2011/286/EEC

Acute (short-term) aquatic hazard:    Acute Category 1
readily biodegradable, ErC50 (72h) is < 1 mg/L), M=1

Long-term (chronic) aquatic hazard:   Chronic Category 2
readily biodegradable, ErC10 (72h) is >0.01 but <= 0.1 mg/L, M = -

The M factors given before are based on the rules given in Section 4.1.3.5.5.5, in 2ndATP of CLP Regulation 2011/286/EEC for assigning of M factors.
