Description of key information

Under the present test conditions, most of Ligustral/Cyclal C/Trigustral was converted into 2,4-dimethyl-3-cyclohexene-1-carboxylic acid and 2,4-dimethyl-3-cyclohexene-1-methanol. Some of Ligustral/Cyclal C/Trigustral, 2,4-dimethyl-3-cyclohexene-1-carboxylic acid, and 2,4-dimethyl-3-cyclobexene-1-methanol were not biodegraded by microorganisms and remained. At the concentration used in the test ( 100 mg /l), it is not inhibitory to the micro-organisms.

Additional information

There are two tests which were conducted according to the OECD guideline 301 under GLP condition. Both of the tests indicate that Ligustral/Cyclal C/Trigustral undergoes no more than 5% biodegradation after 28 days in the test conditions. Therefore, the conclusion that Ligustral/Cyclal C/Trigustral is not readily biodegradable can be drawn.
