Description of key information

Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates: The 48-hour EC50 was >0.17 mg/L (saturated solution). There was no acute toxicity up to the limit of solubility.

Toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria: For the freshwater green alga Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata, the 72-hour ErC10 and ErC50 were determined to be > 0.033 mg/L.

Additional information

Experimental studies evaluating the toxicity of the substance to aquatic organisms are available for two different trophic levels (aquatic invertebrates and algae).

The studies were performed according to international guidelines and GLP. The 48-hour EC50 for Daphnia magna was >0.17 mg/L. Testing with aquatic algae resulted in an ErC50 (72 h) and an ErC10 (72 h) > 0.033 mg/L. All effect concentrations were based on mean measured concentations. No acute toxic effects were observed up to the limit of solubility.
