other: chromosome aberration: -S9 negative, +S9 inconclusive; increase in polyploid cells and endoreduplications
Cytotoxicity / choice of top concentrations:
cytotoxicity
Vehicle controls validity:
valid
Untreated negative controls validity:
not specified
Positive controls validity:
other: number of aberrant cells increased after treatment with rubber extracts
Remarks on result:
other: strain/cell type: CHL cells
Remarks:
Migrated from field 'Test system'.

Any other information on results incl. tables

In the CA test performed with CHL cells, MBT induced polyploidy, including endoreduplication, in the absence and presence of S9 mix. Frequency of polyploid cells and endoreduplications was 3.6% and 6.2% without S9 mix and 2 % and 0.4 % with S9 mix at 0.2 mg/ml. No endoreduplications were noted in the solvent control.

MBT showed inconclusive response in structural CA induction at 0.4 mg/ml with S9 mix.
