- Executive summary:
The effects of 2-[[2-(Dimethylamino)ethyl]methylamino]ethanol [CAS# 2212-32-0] to Daphnia magna were determined in a 48 hour static study. The study was carried out according to OECD guideline 202 (1984). In this study Daphnia were exposed to the test material over a test period of 48 hours and were exposed to nominal exposure concentrations of 0 (control), 12.5, 25, 50 and 100 mg/L. Analysis of the 12.5 and 100 mg/L test media at the start and end of the exposure periods provided mean measured exposure concentrations of 13 and 102 mg/L demonstrating that the test material was stable for the duration of the exposure period. The results of the study were therefore based on nominal exposure concentrations. After 48 hours there was no immobile daphnids in the control, 12.5, 25 and 50 mg/L treatments and 15% immobility in the 100 mg/L treatment. The 48 hour EC50 was therefore observed to be >100 mg/L and the corresponding NOEC was observed to be 100 mg/L.
