First-aid measures

GENERAL: Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. If you feel unwell, seek medical advice (show label where possible).

INHALATION: Remove person to fresh air and keep comfortable for breathing. Allow victim to breathe fresh air. Allow the victim to rest. Get medical attention.

SKIN CONTACT: Remove affected clothing and wash all exposed skin area with mild soap and water. Discard contaminated leather products (shoes). Get medical attention if symptoms persist.

EYE CONTACT: Rinse immediately with plenty of water. Obtain medical attention if pain, blinking or redness persists.

INGESTION: Rinse mouth. Do NOT induce vomiting. Keep at rest. Obtain immediate medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

SUITABLE EXTINGUISHING MEDIA: Foam, Dry powder, Carbon dioxide, Water spray, Sand.

UNSUITABLE EXTINGUISHING MEDIA: Do not use a solid water stream as it may scatter and spread the fire.

SPECIFIC HAZARDS ARISING FROM THE CHEMICAL: Fire may produce irritating, corrosive and/or toxic gases.

SPECIAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT & PRECAUTIONS FOR FIREFIGHTERS: Firefighters must use standard protective equipment including flame retardant coat, helmet with face shield, gloves, rubber boots, and in enclosed spaces. Wear self-contained breathing apparatus with a full facepiece operated in the positive pressure demand mode when fighting fires.

FIRE FIGHTING EQUIPMENT/INSTRUCTIONS: In case of fire and/or hazard exposion do not breathe fumes. Use standard firefighting procedures and consider the hazards of other involved materials. Move containers from fire area if you can do so without risk. Water runoff can cause environmental damage. Ventilate closed spaces before entering them. Keep run-off water out of sewers and water sources. Dike for water control.

SPECIFIC METHODS: Use water spray to cool unopened containers.

GENERAL FIRE HAZARDS: Static charges generated by empty package in or near flammable vapor may cause flash fire.

Accidental release measures

PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS, PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT & EMERGENCY PROCEDURES: Evacuate surrounding areas. Ensure adequate ventilation. Keep unnecessary and unprotected personnel from entering. Do not breathe vapor/spray. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

ENVIRONMENTAL PRECAUTIONS: Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects. Prevent material form entering the environment. Do not discharge into any entering drains, surface waters or groundwaters. Contact local authorities in case of spillage to drain/aquatic environment.

METHODS AND MATERIALS FOR CONTAINMENT AND CLEANING UP: Cover with an inert, inorganic, non-combustible abosrbent material (e.g. dry lime, sand, soda ash). Place in covered containers using non-sparking tools and transport outdoors. Dispose of in accordance with current laws and regulations. Do not release into the environment.

Handling and storage

PRECAUTIONS FOR SAFE HANDLING: Avoid contact with the eyes, skin and clothing. Wear protective clothing and use glasses. Wash hands and other exposed area's before eating, drinking or smoking and when leaving work. Observe the rules of safety and hygiene at work.

CONDITIONS FOR SAFE STORAGE, INCLUDING ANY INCOMPATIBILITIES: Store in tightly closed in original containers in a cool, dry and ventilated area, protected from light. Keep away from incompatible materials (such as strong acids and oxidizing agents).

Exposure controls / personal protection

APPROPRIATE ENGINEERING CONTROLS: Provide adequate ventilation, according to the conditions of use.

GENERAL HYGIENE CONSIDERATIONS: Always observe good personal hygiene measures, such as washing after handling the material and before eating, drinking, using the bathroom and/or smoking. Routinely wash work clothing and protective equipment to remove contaminants.

EYE/FACE PROTECTION: Chemical safety goggles or safety glasses.

HAND PROTECTION: Use chemical resistant gloves (EN 374). Select gloves based on breakthrough time and degradation. Dispose of contaminated gloves afte use in accordance with applicable laws and good laboratory practices.

BODY PROTECTION: Personal protective equipment for the body should be selected based on the task being performed and the risks involved.

REPIRATORY PROTECTION: In case of insufiicient ventilation, use suitable respiratory protection.

ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURE CONTROLS: Do not release in the environment.

Stability and reactivity

REACTIVITY: The product is stable and non-reactive under normal conditions of use, storage and transport.

CHEMICAL STABILITY: Material is stable under normal conditions.

POSSIBILITY OF HAZARDOUS REACTIONS: No dangerous reaction known under conditions of normal use.

CONDITIONS TO AVOID: Avoid temperatures exceeding the flash-point. Contact with incompatible materials.

INCOMPATIBLE MATERIALS: Strong oxidizing agents, strong bases.

HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS: Hazardous decompositon products formed under fire conditions.

Disposal considerations

DISPOSAL INSTRUCTIONS: Do not discharge into drains, water courses or onto the ground. Do not allow this material to drain into sewers/water supplies. Do not contaminate ponds, waterways or ditches with chemical or used containers. Dispose of contents/container in accordance with local/regional/national/international regulations.

WASTE FROM RESIDUES/UNUSED PRODUCTS: Empty containers or liners may retain some product residues. This material and its container must be disposed of in a safe manner.

CONTAMINATED PACKAGING: Empty containers should be taken to an approved waste handling site for recycling or disposal. Since emptied containers may retain product residue, follow label warnings even after container is emptied.
