Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Endpoint:
boiling point
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
08 February 2018
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 103 (Boiling Point)
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.2 (Boiling Temperature)
Qualifier:
equivalent or similar to guideline
Guideline:
EPA OPPTS 830.7220 (Boiling Point / Boiling Range)
Principles of method if other than guideline:
only a pre-test was performed, because the substance decomposed before boiling
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
other: capillary method
Decomposition:
yes
Decomp. temp.:
>= 100 °C
Remarks on result:
not determinable

The substance decomposed before boiling.

Temperature

Observation

Beginning at 100 °C

Condensate, colourless and partially pink discoloured from the test item, was observed. The test item slightly contracted

Beginning at 145 °C

Condensate dropped down to the surface of the test item.

Beginning at 175 °C

The condensate, collected at the surface, started to boil with the dissolved part of the test item.

Beginning at 190 °C

The test items colour became darker and no condensate was left.

Heated until 400 °C

Test item became black-grey and remained solid.

After cooling down

The test item remained black-grey and solid (powder).

Conclusions:
No boiling point could be determined as the substance decomposed before boiling.

Description of key information
