Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Key result
Remarks on result:
no self ignition observed under the test conditions
Remarks:
The test substance entered a very long, shallow endotherm at approximately 55°C and then rose up at 234°C into a very shallow exotherm but did not reach 400°C by self-heating. On completion of testing a black solid residue remained.

Result

During the study, the test substance entered a very long, shallow endotherm at approximately 55°C and then rose up at 234°C into a very shallow exotherm but did not reach 400°C by self-heating. On completion of testing a black solid residue remained. Based on the study result, the study author concluded that no self ignition of the test substance was observed.

Conclusions:
Under the study conditions, no self ignition of the test substance was observed.
Executive summary:

A study was conducted to determine the relative self ignition temperature of the test substance, 'iso and anteiso C10-40 AAP EDM-ES', according to EU Method A.16, in compliance with GLP. During the study, the test substance entered a very long, shallow endotherm at approximately 55°C and then rose up at 234°C into a very shallow exotherm but did not reach 400°C by self-heating. On completion of testing a black solid residue remained. Under the study conditions, no self ignition of the test substance was observed (Chilworth, 2017).

Description of key information

The relative self ignition temperature for the test substance was determined according to EU Method A.16 (Chilworth, 2017).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Value used for CSA: No self ignition observed up to 400°C
