For the following ecotoxicological studies the test item used corresponds to 50.6% of diisopropyl peroxydicarbonate in 49.4% of ethyl acetate. Its active ingredient, diisopropyl peroxydicarbonate, hydrolyses rapidly into n-isopropanol. Test samples were therefore monitored for n-isopropanol and the results have been converted from isopropanol to the active ingredient of the test item.

In OECD 202 and OECD 203 studies, an 48h_EC50= 4.1 mg/L was obtained for daphnia, and an 96h_EC50> 0.72 mg/L for fish respectively.

The lowest EC50value was measured in OECD 201 on algae with 72h_EC50= 0,27 mg/L. The corresponding 72h_NOEC is 0.22 mg/L.

Moreover, the effect of diisopropyl peroxydicarbonate on the respiration of activated sewage sludge has been assessed according to OECD 209 and gave a 3-hour EC50 value of 40 mg/L and a 3-hour EC10 of 9.9 mg/L.
