Description of key information

Fatty acids, C12-20 and C12-20-unsatd., 2-ethylhexyl esters are stable to hydrolysis.

The substance Fatty acids, C12 -20 and C12 -20 -unsatd., 2 -ethylhexyl esters is considered to be readily biodegradable.

According to EPIsuite (KOWWIN v1.67 estimate), the partition coefficient for the Fatty acids, C12-20 and C12-20-unsatd., 2-ethylhexyl esters range from ≥8.5 - ≤ 12.6. A study is not considered to be necessary, uptake into fish is expected to be hindered by the large molecular size. If taken up by fish, these carboxylate ester-containing substances are expected to be readily metabolized and excreted. Thus, the bioaccumulation potential is expected to be much lower than predicted from log Kow alone.

The substance Fatty acids, C12-20 and C12-20-unsatd., 2-ethylhexyl esters (CAS: 91001-42-2) was determined to have a Log P value of greater than 5.7 and therefore can not be expected to have a low adsorption potential to soil. However, the Koc value was estimated from the chemical structure of the three main components of Fatty acids, C12-20 and C12-20-unsatd., 2-ethylhexyl esters (CAS: 91001-42-2). According to KOCWIN the estimated Log Koc of Fatty acids, C12-20 and C12-20-unsatd., 2-ethylhexyl esters were between Log Koc 6.4655 (Koc Estimate from MCI) and between Log Koc 6.9163 - Log Koc 7.0324 (Koc Estimate from Log Kow).
