First-aid measures
DESCRIPTION OF FIRST AID MEASURES
General advice: Remove contaminated clothing and shoes without delay.
If inhaled:
Remove person to fresh air and at rest. In case of any signs/symptoms, get medical attention immediately.
In case of skin contact:
Wash immediately with plenty of water and soap. If irritation develops and persists, get medical attention immediately.
In case of eye contact:
Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids for several minutes. Seek medical advice.
If swallowed:
Call a physician and obtain medical attention immediately.
MOST IMPORTANT SYMPTOMS AND EFFECTS, BOTH ACUTE AND DELAYED
None known.
INDICATION OF ANY IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION AND SPECIAL TREATMENT NEEDS
Not applicable.
Fire-fighting measures
EXTINGUISHING MEDIA
Suitable extinguishing media:
Carbon dioxide, extinguishing powder or water spray jet. In case of major fire use water spray jet or alcohol-resistant spray foam.
Unsuitable extinguishing media:
High volume water jet
SPECIAL HAZARDS ARISING FROM THE SUBSTANCE OR MIXTURE
Fire may cause evolution of toxic gases: carbon monoxide, acrylonitrile
Accidental release measures
ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:
Wear personal protective equipment.
Environmental Precautions:
In case of spillages into waters or drains inform the local authorities. Do not empty into the soil.
Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:
Absorb spills with liquid-binding material (sand, kieselguhr, acid-binding agent, universal binder, sawdust).
Dispose of contaminated material according to the local authority regulations. Take care for sufficient ventilation.
Reference to other sections
Clean accident scene carefully.
Handling and storage
PRECAUTIONS FOR SAFE HANDLING
General precautionary measures with regard to the handling of chemicals have to be followed.
Provide good ventilation of working area.
Information on fire and explosion prevention: No specific measures required.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:
Requirements for storage areas and containers:
Store in original container only.
Suitable material for containers and pipelines: steel or stainless steel
Suitable material for containers and pipelines: copper
Provide floor tray without drainage.
Store away from food.
Keep container tightly closed. Observe the general rules of industrial fire protection.
Storage Class: 8A
Specific end use(s):

Exposure controls / personal protection
Control parameters
Contains no substances with occupational exposure limit values.
Personal protection measures:
General advice:
Keep away from food, beverages and feedingstuffs. Take off all contaminated clothing immediately. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water before breaks and at end of work. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
Respiratory protection:
Use respirator with an approved filter: A-P2 filter
Hand protection:
Only use synthetic chemicals-protection gloves with CE-labelling, category III. In order to minimise the moisture formed by sweating in the gloves, change the gloves during a workshift. Before re-use of the gloves the seal tightness has to be proven. Preventive skin protection by using of skin protection products is recommended. The break through time depends amongst other things on the material, the thickness and the type of glove and therefore has to be measured for each case. Suitable materials: butyl-rubber, PVC.
Eye protection:
Tightly fitting safety goggles.
Body protection:
Wear industrial protective clothing
Stability and reactivity
REACTIVITY
No information available.
POSSIBILITY OF HAZARDOUS REACTIONS
No hazardous reactions known.
CONDITIONS TO AVOID
No additional relevant information available.
INCOMPATIBLE MATERIALS
strong acids
HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS
In the event of fire: development of toxic gases and vapours.
Disposal considerations
Waste treatment methods
Disposal must be made in accordance with applicable local and national regulations. The liquid component has to be directed to an appropriate combustion. After hardening the poduct can be disposed of via the domestic waste.
