First-aid measures

Exposure by Inhalation:

Move the casualty to fresh air, keep the person warm and calm. Seek medical attention immediately.

Exposure by skin and eye contact:

Wash the affected skin area with copious amounts of clean water.

Wash the eye for at least 15 minutes in clean running water.

Seek medical attention immediately.

Exposure by ingestion:

Wash the mouth thoroughly with plenty of clean water.

Seek medical attention immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable fire extinguishing agents:

Water

Unsuitable fire extinguishing measures:

None known.

Special explosion dagers:

Non-combustible and there is little hazard for fire and/or explosion. If neighbouring area is on fire, move the material to a safe area.

Protective Equipment for Firefighters:

Full protective clothing and self-contained breathing apparatus should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Personal Precautions:

Evacuate personnel from immediate vicinity.

Environmental Precautions:

Do not release to drain.

Methods for Cleaning Up:

Land spill: During handling wear protective equipment (dust proof mask, protective eye goggles and gloves) so as not to inhale the powder, nor let it come into contact with skin. Absorb splashed material using a vacuum cleaner or slash water and then sweep so as not to create dust and shovel recovered material into a container.

Water spill: Recover it to a container in order for thick waste fluid not to drain into rivers.

The substance should be handled under conditions of good industrial hygiene and in conformity with any local regulations in order to avoid unnecessary exposure.

Technical Measures:

When handling the substance use sealed devices, equipment, containers or locally disposable devices as much as possible. During work and handling, wear appropriate PPE, including dust proof masks, eye protection (goggles) and protective gloves. Use LEV.

Exposure controls / personal protection

The provision of personal protective equipment and the need to provide engineering control measures should be decided upon by the user as part of a formal exposure risk assessment.

Based upon the available toxicological information the protective measures described below should be regarded as a minimum.

Respiratory Protection:

Based upon current information and in the absence of occupational exposure limits the use of a dust mask to a minimum standard of EN149 FFPI/vapour mask to a minimum standard of EN405 FFA1 is recommended.

Hand Protection:

Chemical protective gloves to a Standard EN374 should be provided.  Usage periods should not exceed the breakthrough times for the chemical stated by the manufacturer of the glove.

Eye Protection:

Eye protection should be used when handling the substance.  The protection should be capable of giving chemical protection as classified in EN166.

Skin Protection:

Handling of the material should be done wearing chemical protective clothing suitable for protection against the chemical as classified by Standard EN368.

Stability and reactivity

The substance is stable and not harmfully reative under normal working conditions.

Disposal considerations

Waste from Residues:

Dispose of by incineration or landfill in accordance with local, regional and national regulations.  Stack gases should be scrubbed.

Contaminated Packaging:

Dispose of by incineration or landfill in accordance with local, regional and national regulations. Stack gases should be scrubbed.
