Materials and methods

Test guideline
Qualifier:
no guideline followed
Principles of method if other than guideline:
- Principle of test: Boiling point was determined via temperature of vapour phase
- Short description of test conditions: About 100 g of the test substance were placed within the flask and heated while stirring and under normal pressure until reflux conditions were reached. The temperature in the vapour phase was then followed for approximately 5 minutes.
- Parameters analysed / observed: temperature of vapour phase
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
distillation method

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The boiling point was determined according to a scientifically valid method, hence, the following result for the test material can be considered as reliable: Boiling point measurement: 230 °C (normal pressure)
Executive summary:

The boiling point of 2-(1-Methyl-2-piperidine) ethanol was determined via distillation method to be 230°C under normal pressure.
