The pour point is determined by the freezing temperature. In this temperature the molecules of a liquid begin to form crystals. A sample of the substance is placed in a test tube and stirred continuously. As the sample is cooled, its temperature is measured at regular intervals. As soon as the temperature remains constant for a few readings, this temperature is recorded as the freezing temperature.
