Endpoint:
surface tension
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
22 February 2018 to 30 October 2018
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.5 (Surface Tension)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
plate method
Specific details on test material used for the study:
Physical Form: Amber liquid
Stability: Stable at room temperature
Key result
Surface tension:
53.2 mN/m
Temp.:
25 °C
Remarks on result:
other: The mean concentration of the test solutions measured was < 10 mg/L for m/z 369 and < 5 mg/L for m/z 251 and < 1 mg/L for m/z 281.

From the analysis performed for m/z 369, m/z 351 and m/z 281 all undiluted surface tension test solutions were determined to have concentrations below the limit of quantitation for the method.

The mean concentration of the test solutions measured was < 10 mg/L for m/z 369 and < 5 mg/L for m/z 251 and < 1 mg/L for m/z 281.

Conclusions:
For the Test material a surface tension value of 53.2 mN/m at 25.0 °C has been reported.

The mean concentration of the test solutions measured was < 10 mg/L for m/z 369 and < 5 mg/L for m/z 251 and < 1 mg/L for m/z 281.

Executive summary:

In a study performed to the standardised guideline EU Test Method A.5 under GLP conditions, the surface tension of the test material has been determined to be 53.2 mM/m.
