Preliminary test

The lowest auto-ignition temperature of the test item was determined to be 376 °C in the preliminary test.

The lowest auto-ignition temperature of the test item was determined to be 360 °Cin the main test.Due to safety reasons and according to the guidelines the lowest measured temperature at which an ignition was observed was rounded to the next lower number divisible by 5, giving a value of 355 °C.

Conclusions:
The auto-ignition temperature of the test item was 355 °C.
Executive summary:

The study was performed in order to determine the auto-ignition temperature of test item according to EU A.15 guideline. The lowest auto-ignition temperature of the test item was determined to be 360°C in the main test.

The three lowest results of the tests with 2 K steps were within a range of 10K. Therefore, the results were considered as valid.

Due to safety reasons and according to the guidelines the lowest measured temperature at which an ignition was observed was rounded to the next lower number divisible by 5, giving a value of 355 °C.

Description of key information

AIT for liquid and low melting point solids:

The auto-ignition temperature of the test item according to the auto-ignition test conditions in the sense of the European Commission Regulation (EC) No. 440/2008, Method A.15. was 355 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Autoflammability / Self-ignition temperature at 101 325 Pa:
355 °C

Additional information

A fully reliable experimental study, conducted according to EU A.15 guideline is available.

It is considered as a key study, and the result is retained as key data.

This parameter is not relevant for classification, however the information is useful regarding process safety and potential additional fire hazard.
