Additional information
PNEC aqua (freshwater): 67.6 μg/L
PNEC aqua (marine water): 6.76 μg/L
PNEC aqua (intermittent release): 676 μg/L
PNEC STP: > 30 mg/L
PNEC sediment (freshwater): 315 μg/L
PNEC sediment (marine water): 31.5 μg/L
PNEC soil: The PNEC soil was calculated to be 29.3 µg/kg soil dw using the equilibrium partitioning method in EUSES v.2.1. Input values were a Koc value of 15 L/kg (minimum value in EUSES) and a Henry's Law constant of 0.844 Pa.m3/mol. Nevertheless no exposure of soil is expected.
PNEC oral: No bioaccumulation of "3-hydroxy-2-(hydroxymethyl) -2-methylpropionaldehyde" is expected from the low octanol/water partition coefficient. No relevant secondary poisoning is therefore expected.
Beside this fact: PNECoral = 21 mg/kg food = 21 ppm.
Conclusion on classification
On the basis of the above results, the substance is not classified in the acute aquatic toxicity category and it is not classified as chronic aquatic toxicity according to the CLP regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.
