Conclusions:
The auto-ignition temperature of the test item, triglycerides, C16 and C18 (unsaturated), was determined to be 401°C.
Executive summary:

A study to determine the auto ignition temperature of the test item, triglycerides, C16 and C18 (unsaturated), was conducted according to EC A.15 guideline. The auto-ignition temperature was determined as the lowest temperature at which the ignition of the test item when mixed with air under the test conditions was observed.

The auto-ignition temperature for the test item, triglycerides, C16 and C18 (unsaturated), was determined to be 401°C.

The study was conducted according to standard guideline and is GLP-compliant and therefore is considered as reliable without restrictions.

Description of key information

The auto-ignition temperature of triglycerides, C16 and C18 (unsaturated) is 401°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Autoflammability / Self-ignition temperature at 101 325 Pa:
401 °C

Additional information

A study to determine auto ignition temperature of triglycerides, C16 and C18 (unsaturated) was conducted according to EC A.15 guideline (Dunning 2019).

The study is a GLP compliant, guideline experimental study and is fully acceptable for assessment of this endpoint.
