Specific details on test material used for the study:
Name: FAT 40549/A
Batch no: TV 1
Colour: yellow-brown
Aggregate State at room temp: solid
Stability in Solvent: 48 hours
Stability at storage conditions: stable
Molecular Weight : 1138 g/mol
Analysis: HPLC
Storage: at room temperature
Expiration Date: January 01, 2001
Test procedure:
burning rate test: preliminary screening test
Burning time:
0 s
Remarks on result:
substance does not ignite and propagate combustion either by burning with flame or smouldering along 200 mm of the powder train within the 2 minutes test period
Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
The test substance is non-flammable.
Executive summary:

The determination of the flammability of the test article was performed in accordance with the EEC directive 92/69, Annex V, Part A, Methods for the determination of physico-chemical properties, A. 10 "Flammability (solids)", EEC Publication No. L383, December 1992.

In a preliminary test, the substance was made into a pile of 250 mm length. An attempt was then made to ignite the sample and the burning time over a distance of 200 mm was measured.

FAT 40'549/A could not be ignited with a flame. In contact with the ignition source, the test substance coloured black. However, the test substance could not sustain a burning reaction. The test substance is thus non-flammable.

Description of key information

The test substance is non-flammable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
not classified

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the results of flammability tests, the substance is not considered flammable according to CLP (Regulation EC No 1272/2008) or DSD (Directive 67/548/EEC).
