- Conclusions:
- The Mass median diameter of FAT 40549 was found to be 66 μm.
- Executive summary:
The purpose of the study is to determine the particle size distribution of FAT 40'549/A according to the OECD guideline 110.
The determination of the particle size distribution using the applied methods was limited to the range 0.36 μm - < 63 μm (multistage impactor) 63 μm - < 100 μm, 100 μm - < 200 μm and > 200 μm (sieving).
The substance FAT 40'549/A is a powder with a rate of 0.51 mass-% greater than 200 μm. The particle size distribution further has been determined to be 4.4 % < 10 μm. 50 mass-% of the substance were smaller than 66 μm (MMD). The maximum of mass frequency was a about 45 μm.
