Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The glass substances are defined as a mixture of inorganic chemical substances
produced by the rapid quenching of a molten, complex combination of materials.

This process confines the chemical substances as non-migratory components of
glassy solid flakes or granules.

Glass does not melt at a given temperature but over temperture range,
therefore the average melting peak temperature was determined as a result
of the final reaction of all the components included in the recipe.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
1 033 °C

Additional information

According to literature available for the substance "frits, chemicals", which it is quite similar in terms of production process and chemical structure to the "Amorphous barium copper zinc borobismuthate, the average melting peak (˚C) could be around 1030.
