Observation

Thermal sensitivity

None of the test tubes showed any deformation after an exposure time of 300s.

Shock

A solid test substance pelled was formed between the two steel cylinders. A discoloration of the test substance was observed in two out of six tests. No traces of a vigorous reaction were observed.

Friction

The test substance turned brow or brown/black in the contact area. No traces of a vigorous reaction were observed.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
non explosive
Remarks:
Migrated information
Conclusions:
Addotto GM 102E/BAF is not explosive when exposed to thermal or mechanical stress under the conditions of the test.
Executive summary:

Exposing the test substance for 300s to thermal stress did not result in an explosion. None of the test tubes showed a deformation. Therefore the test substance was concluded to be not explosive when exposed to thermal stress.

Exposing the test substance to mechanica stress by shock, resulted in the formation of a solid pellet of the tes substance. In two out of six tests, a discolouration was observed.

No traces of a vigorous reaction were observed.

From this it was concluded that the test substance does react under mechanical stress by shock, but has not to be seen as explosive.

Exposing the test substance to mechanical stress by friction, resulted in decomposition of the test substance. The test substance decomposed into a brown or brown/black residue, probably caused by the released heat coming from the friction between the two porcelain surfaces.

During the performance of the test, no fire, sparks, smoke or crepitation was observed.

Therefore it was concluded that the test substance does react under mechanical stress by friction, but has not to be seen as explosive.
