Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

Petrolatums do not meet EU criteria for explosiveness, as they do not have chemical groups associated with explosive properties. Petrolatums are not explosive per se, and, due to their extremely low vapour pressures, do not form explosive mixtures in air. Petrolatums are therefore not classified as explosive.

The substance is manufactured using oxidised petrolatum, therefore no further oxidiation being a premise for explosiveness is anticipated.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Petrolatums do not meet EU CLP (EC No. 1272/2008) criteria for explosiveness. Petrolatums are not explosive per se, and, due to their extremely low vapour pressures, do not form explosive mixtures in air. Petrolatums are therefore not classified as explosive.
