Acetylfuranoside (142.37 g) was poured into a 250 mL measuring cylinder (this equated to 90% of its capacity). The density was calculated from Density (g/mL) = (weight taken (g) / Volume (mL)). The surface of the material was levelled the cylinder stoppered and placed in the dropping box and dropped over the prescribed distance 50 times in 98 seconds.
