Description of key information

The LC50(96 h) for fish was calculated to be 6.80 mg/L. [with ECOSAR v1.00 (EPIWIN software by US-EPA]

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Fresh water fish

Fresh water fish
Effect concentration:
6.8 mg/L

Additional information

The short-term toxicity of the substance tributyl citrate was calculated by the computer program ECOSAR program (v1.00) made available by U.S. EPA. The program uses an extensive set of structure-activity relationships (SARs) to estimate the toxicity of chemicals discharged to water. For fish a LC50(96 h) of 6.80 mg/L was predicted (based on an experimentally determined water solubility of 102.7 mg/L and a LogPOW of 3.5) using the SAR for esters.
