Based on the dissociation constant of the test item it can be assumed that the pyridinic nitrogen of the test item is mainly protonated at pH 4.47 and below. In the environmentally relevant pH range (pH 5 to pH 8) the test item will exist mainly in its neutral unprotonated form.
