PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

The ready biodegradability of the test substance was investigated in a study performed according to the guidance B4/449/EWG C.5. Less than 2 % degradation was observed after the test period of 28 days. The test substance can therefore be considered as poorly biodegradable. The substance fulfills the screening criterion for P and vP. The value of Log Kow is higher than 4, indicating the bioaccumlation potential. There is one experimental bioconcentration factor (BCF) available for UV-360, which is less than 1.5. So it does not fulfil the bioaccumulation criteria. The long-term toxicity to marine and freshwater organisms is expected to be >= 0.01 mg/L. It is no classified as CMR substance. It is also not classified as T, R48, or: Xn, R48 According to Directive 67/548/EEC & Directive 1999/45/EC. As conclusion, it does not meet the PBT or vPvB criteria for classification based on Annex XIII of REACH. So, it is not classified as PBT or vPvB.
