Description of key information

A ready biodegradation study was conducted on both the test material (UC and the surrogate material (EHMC). The results were almost identical as EHMC produced a result of 4% degradation over 28 days, which is compared to 3% degradation over 28 days for UC.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
under test conditions no biodegradation observed

Additional information

A ready biodegradation study was undertaken on the test material UC using EU Method C4-C and OECD guideline 301B. A ready biodegradation study was also conducted on the surrogate material EHMC using EU Method C4-C and OECD guideline 301B. The results were almost identical as EHMC produced a result of 4% degradation over 28 days, which is compared to 3% degradation over 28 days for UC.
