Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Study design

Oxygen conditions:
aerobic
Inoculum or test system:
activated sludge, domestic (adaptation not specified)
Duration of test (contact time):
28 d
Details on study design:
The carefully stoppered bottles were incubated at 20.0°C in the dark. The zero-time bottles were analysed immediately for dissolved oxygen by the
electrode method. At least duplicate bottles of all series were analysed at time intervals over the 28 days incubation.
Sampling frequency: 0, 1, 2, 5, 8, 12, 16, 19, 23 and 28 days
Reference substance
Reference substance:
acetic acid, sodium salt

Details on results:
For the test item, no marked reduction of the O2 concentration was observed. Throughout the experiment small values of O2 uptake were
measured on the second day. As the results do not exceed 4 per cent and not any O2 uptake was measured during the further test they can not be
interpreted as a degradation of the test item.

Results with reference substance:
58% after 2 days, 77% after 5 days and 81% after 12 days

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
under test conditions no biodegradation observed
Conclusions:
The pass Ievel for ready biodegradation ( 60 per cent degradation) was not reached. Thus in the test for ready biodegradability the test item seems
to be not readily biodegradable.
