Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The effective concentration (EC50) value of diiodohydroxyquinoline in aquatic invertebrate (Daphnia Magna) in a 48 hr study on intoxication effect was estimated to be 12.50081mg/L. In another supporting study, the L50 value of diiodohydroxyquinoline to Daphnia Magna) in a 48 hr study on the basis of mortality effect was estimated to be 10.37779mg/L. However, the BCF value of diiodohydroxyquinoline reported was not >= 500 as well as the substance was found to be rapidly degradable. Thus considering the CLP Criteria for aquatic classification of the substance , it is concluded that diiodohydroxyquinoline could not exhibit short term toxicity to aquatic invertebrate Daphnia
