Materials and methods

Test guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 211 (Daphnia magna Reproduction Test)
Principles of method if other than guideline:
- Principle of test: The objective of the study should be to assess the toxicity of the parent substance.
- Short description of test conditions: Modifications to the guideline should be used, in accordance with OECD TG 23 on testing ecotoxicity of difficult substances. Specifically, it is recommended to use a shortened media stirring/settling period; avoid raised temperatures (e.g. which might be caused by ultrasonication/high-energy stirring); pH must be maintained at or very close to 7 from the time of addition to aqueous medium; use media replenishment e.g. semi-static exposure regime, if feasible.
- Parameters analysed / observed: as standard.
