Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
A flash point value of 116.5°C at 1013 hPa was determined for the substance using a relevant test method and in compliance with a known quality system (ISO 9001:2008). The result is considered to be reliable.

Description of key information

Additional information

Two reliable measured flash point studies are available for the substance from the same author (Haas 2016), conducted in compliance with a known quality system (ISO 9001:2008). A flash point value of 116.5°C at 1013 hPa was determined for the substance using a closed-cup method in accordance with ISO 2719 Test Method. Similarly, a limit flash point value of >110°C at 1013 hPa was also determined for the substance using a rapid equilibrium closed-cup method in accordance with ISO 3679 Test Method. The non-equilibrium closed-cup method is selected as key study because it is not a limit value.

A result of 107°C (using the standard method ASTM D-93) was reported for the substance in a secondary source (MSDS) to which reliability could not be assigned.

A measured flash point of 116.5°C at 1013 hPa and measured boiling point of 267.7°C at 1013 hPa indicate that the substance should not be classified for flammability in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008.
