The three borated glycol esters which form B-TTEGME are hydrolysed upon contact with water at pH 1.4, 4, 7 and 9, due to cleavage of the ester bond. They are furthermore readily biodegradable. Hence B-TTEGME is not stable in the environment and not subject to transport in water and soil. The three borated glycol ester components of B-TTEGME are not volatile and transport via the air is not expected.
