Description of key information

No study on the chronic toxicity to inverterbrates is available.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

2-aminobutanol is readily biodegradable and has very low potential for bioaccumulation (log Kow<1). The risk characterisation shows that the PEC/PNEC ratio for freshwater is <1 with a PNEC derived from acute data on three trophic levels. According to REACH Annex IX requirements, long-term toxicity testing shall only be considered when the chemical safety assessment indicates the need for further investigations, therefore long-term testing in inverterbrates can be waived.
