Description of key information

Mineral wool is listed in Commission decision 96/603/EC as a Class A (‘No contribution to fire’) material. Therefore MMVF that are the main raw material can be considered as A.

Mineral wool is listed in Commission decision 96/603/EC as a Class A (‘No contribution to fire’) material. According to Article 1 of the decision, the materials, and products made from them, that are listed in the Annex of the Decision, shall, on account of their low level of combustibility and subject to the conditions also set out in the Annex, be classified in Classes A (‘No contribution to fire’) as provided for in tables 1 and 2 of the Annex to Decision 94/611/EC. As such, flammability testing is not required for MMVF as main component of the mineral wool.
