Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

With high probability acutely notharmful to fish.
No toxic effects occur at the range of the substances solubility.
LC50 (96h) > 100 mg/L (nominal) for Danio rerio (OECD 203)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Since no data of acute toxicity on fish for the described pigment are available, a read-across to a similar pigment (CAS 30125-47-4) is used to cover this endpoint. The acute aquatic toxicity on the zebrafish Danio rerio was investigated in a GLP guideline study according to OECD 203 [Experimental Toxicology and Ecology, BASF AG, 2000]. Based on the low water solubility of the test item the study was conducted as limit test with a nominal concentration of 100 mg/L. After 96 hours of exposure no toxic effects on fish up to the highest test concentration were observed.
