Description of key information

The substance is a liquid at 293.15K, 1 atm and therefore a flammability study for solids is not feasible.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
not classified

Additional information

The flammability (contact with water) of one of the two constituents of the registered substance was determined experimentally according to EU Method A.12. As this constituent was not flammable, also the registered substance is considered not flammable.

Furthermore, a review of the structure suggests that there are no chemical groups present that would imply pyrophoric properties or flammability on contact with water. A review of handling and uses implies no pyrophoric properties or flammability on contact with water. In conclusion based on the known Flash Point of the substance it is considered not to be flammable. Based on the absence of structural alerts and experience in handling and use negative results are predicted for pyrophoric properties and flammability of contact with water.

In addition no formation of gases was observed during water solubility tests of the constituents.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The substance is a liquid at 293.15K, 1 atm and therefore a flammability study for solids is not feasible.
