Materials and methods

Principles of method if other than guideline:
The rats were given three consecutive daily intraperitoneal injections of menthol dissolved in 10% ethanol, 90% corn oil at a dose of 40 mg/kg body weight. The rats were starved overnight and killed by cervical dislocation 18 hr after receiving the third injection. Cytochrome P-450 was assayed by CO-reduced difference spectroscopy, cytochrome b5 was determined spectrophotometrically.
