Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Conclusion on classification

Classification related key information

The concept of ready biodegradability does not apply to inorganic substances.

Significant bioaccumulation in biota is not expected for this substance (see IUCLID section 5.3).

Acute toxicity:

-          Fish: LC50(96h)> 2.14 mg/L (measured); LC50(96h)> 100 mg/L (nominal)

-         Aquatic invertebrates:EC50(48 h) > 5.35 mg/L (measured); EC50(48 h) >100 mg/L (nominal)

-         Algae:EC50(72 h) > 1.56 mg/L (measured); EC50(72 h) >100 mg/L (nominal).

Chronic toxicity:

-         Experimental data on the long-term toxicity of the substance are not available. Chronic toxicity of the substance is not anticipated.

Conclusion on classification

The substancepentacalcium hydroxide tris(orthophosphate)has a low potential for bioaccumulation. The acute aquatic toxicity L(E)C50 values are > 100 mg/L for fish, aquatic invertebrates and algae. Furthermore the substance is considered as not chronically toxic. Thus the substance does not need to be classified and labelled according to the 6th ATP of Regulation (EC) No.1272/2008 (CLP).
