Description of key information

A study conducted on the reference substance (White & Mullee, 2007) concluded that the test material decomposed from 500 ± 0.5 Kat 99.35 kPa. As the test material decomposed, no value for boiling temperature could be determined. A calculated value of boiling temperature for the abacavir component gave a result of 795 K. An experiment database match of 576 K was obtained for the glutaric acid component.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The determination was carried out by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) using the procedure specified in ASTM E537-86, Method A2 of Commission Directive 92/69/EEC (which constitutes Annex V of Council Directive 67/548/EEC).
