Description of key information

The 72h-EC50 and NOEC for growth rate reduction were above the solubility limit of the test substance in medium (which is < 8 µg/L) of URACROSS ZW7672P, Product ID 021116/000 in test medium.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In a 72h toxicity study conducted according to OECD guideline 201, freshwater algae (Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata) were exposed to the registered substance URACROSS ZW7672P, Product ID 021116/000 at the following nominal concentrations: 0 (blank-control) and a water accomodated fraction (WAF) at a loading rate of 1 mg/L. The concentration of test substance in samples taken from the limit concentration (1 mg/L) was below the limit of detection of the analytical method (LOD=0.008 mg/L) at all sampling points (i.e. t = 0h; t = 24h and t = 72h). The 72-h EC50 and NOEC for growth rate reduction were above the solubility limit of the registered substance URACROSS ZW7672P, Product ID 021116/000 in test medium. As no effects were observed at a loading rate of 1 mg/L, it can be concluded from the study that there is no acute toxicity to algae below the solubility of the substance in test medium and the study is still considered reliable with restrictions (KC2).
