Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

427 000

Additional information

An OECD 121 guideline HPLC study was conducted to determine the adsorption coefficient of DMATO. The test utilized high performance liquid chromatography and a cyanopropyl reverse phase column containing lipophilic and polar moieties.

The test item (0.5007g) was diluted to 100 mL with methanol. Dead time was determined by measuring the retention time of formamide. In addition to this 12 reference standards were tested.

A calibration curve was constructed from the retention time data of the dead time and reference standard solutions. The retention time of the test substance was >23.591 mins. From this the log Koc was calculated to be >5.63. This indicates that the substance will bind strongly to carbon and will be immobile in the environment.

For the purposes of the risk assessment a log Koc value of 5.63 has been used as this is close to the maximum value that the EUSES exposure model will accept.

Further information on adsorption/desorption is not considered necessary as indications are that the substance will have a very high Koc and no further information would be necessary for the risk assessment.
