Reference
Endpoint:
bioaccumulation in aquatic species: fish
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance has a low potential for bioaccumulation based on log Kow <=3 and a low potential to cross biological membranes

Description of key information

Bioaccumulation: aquatic/sediment: Low potential for bioaccumulation due to rapid hydrolysis in contact with water

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The substance hydrolyses rapidly (half-life 3.1 hours at pH 7 and 25°C) to form (3-chloropropyl)silanetriol and methanol. (3-Chloropropyl)silanetriol and methanol have low log Kow values (<3) and thus have low potential for bioaccumulation and the requirement for testing is waived.
