Key study data are available for each physicochemical endpoint for MK1 Diesel Fuel. All substances in the category are liquid (Shell, 2007b) at ambient temperature (20°C) and pressure (101.3 kPa).There is no guideline method available for this endpoint and data presented are based on visual observation, supported by data on melting point and viscosity. The melting point for chemicals in this category (represented by gasoline) is generally <-20°C (Westerholm et al. 2001). Boiling point for MK1 Diesel Fuel ranges from 180 to 280°C (Westerholm et al. 2001). The density for MK1 Diesel Fuel ranges from 0.81 to 0.83 g/cm3(Westerholm et al. 2001) while the vapour pressureis typically 0.7 kPa at 37.8°C (CONCAWE, 2010a).
The flash point for MK1 Diesel Fuel ranges from 66°C to 67°C (Westerholm et al. 2001) and self-ignition temperature is typically 240°C at 1013 hPa (CONCAWE, 2010a). MK1 Diesel Fuel does not meet EU CLP Regulation (EC No. 1272/2008) criteria for neither explosivivity nor oxidizing properties. Based on the viscosity range of MK1 Diesel Fuel, from 1.5 to 2.08 mm2/s at 40°C (Westerholm et al. 2001), MK1 Diesel Fuel meets the criteria for classification as an aspiration hazard under the EU CLP Regulation
Based on information available on the properties of MK1 Diesel Fuel, specific data are not presented for the following endpoints: partition co-efficient, water solubility, granulometry, surface tension, flammability, stability in organic solvents, and dissociation constant.
