Description of key information

Weight of evidence approach based on three peer-reviewed values from handbooks (-48.8, -49.5 and -49 °C) was used to indicate the melting point of propylene carbonate.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
-49 °C

Additional information

The values are in close range, therefore the mean of the values is used. Although for two of the three results the atmospheric pressure was not reported, it was assumed that both values reflect a standard atmospheric pressure of 1013 hPa.
