Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

There are no experimental data on environmental distribution ofpenta-1,3-diene. QSAR modeling predicts thatpenta-1,3-dienewill volatize rapidly from surface water with TD50 = 0.03 days (river) and 3.27 days (lake).

The low value for soil organic carbon-water partition coefficient (logKoc = 1.86 -2.12) suggests thatpenta-1,3-dienewill not adsorb onto soil and sediment and, therefore, together with its high volatility, will not persist in these environmental media.

The data on environmental distribution ofpenta-1,3-dieneobtained from the level III fugacity model confirms thatpenta-1,3-dienedegrades fast and depending on various emission scenarios, most ofpenta-1,3-dienewill be removed from the environment by means of abiotic and biotic degradation.
