Endpoint:
vapour pressure
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
23 February - 22 April, 2015
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Remarks:
The study was conducted according to an internationally recognised method, and under GLP. No deviation was reported. Test substance is adequately specified with isomer purity. Therefore full validation applies.
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 104 (Vapour Pressure Curve)
Deviations:
no
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.4 (Vapour Pressure)
Deviations:
no
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Not applicable
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Remarks:
UK GLP compliance programme (inspected on 05 February 2014 / signed on 07 October 2015)
Type of method:
effusion method: vapour pressure balance
Key result
Temp.:
25 °C
Vapour pressure:
1 Pa
Remarks on result:
other: interpolated

Run 1

Correlation (r): -0.9895

Slope: -4097

Intercept: 13.79

Vp (Pa) at 25 °C: 1.11

Run 2

Correlation (r): -0.9952

Slope: -4236

Intercept: 14.19

Vp (Pa) at 25 °C: 0.965

The runs yielded a mean vapour pressure value at 25 ºC of 1.0 Pa.

Conclusions:
Low volatility (based on volatility bands criteria for occupational exposure (Chesar / ECETOC TRA), < 500 Pa).
Executive summary:

The vapour pressure of the test substance was measured under GLP according to OECD 104 / EU A4 guideline by an effusion method using a vapour pressure balance. Two definitive runs were performed between temperatures of 20 and 53 °C. Vapour pressure at 25 °C was interpolated from the regressions.

The runs yielded a mean vapour pressure value at 25 ºC of 1.0 Pa.

The vapour pressure of the test item has been determined to be 1.0 Pa at 25 °C.

Description of key information

Low volatility.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Vapour pressure:
1 Pa
at the temperature of:
25 °C

Additional information

A fully reliable experimental study, conducted according to a recognized OECD/EU method, is available. It is considered as a key study. The result is retained as key data.
